The story goes that in the mid-60s, Martin rolled out the D12-20 and D35 in a hurry to keep up with the folk music boom. Continuing through into the mid-80s, this example from 1971 has all the calling cards of its origins - slotted headstock accommodating 12-strings, a dreadnought body comprising mahogany neck, back, sides, a spruce top, and a big, warm, classically Martin sound.
A previous owner's name engraved into rear of headstock. Pickguard is a touch warped. A typed setlist from a show in the 70s sello-taped to upper bout. Playable for cowboy music, but would certainly appreciate a neck-reset for more flowery playing. Price reflects the potential for future maintenance. Sold as-is. Includes original case.
